Just bought a 1x1

Hey all.

I just bought a 1x1 off of Ebay and am waiting for it to be shipped. As a MTB newb, I'm looking for folks willing to take me out and teach me. I've also never ridden SS before much less a SS MTB. Any takers? I should recieve said mud machine in a few weeks.

I haven't been on an MTB since the loss of my Rocky Mountain Element in 2001. My singlespeed MTB frame is about two weeks away from going off to paint, though, so by October, I should be ready to go out and ride. I figure I should be back to n00b status by then.

Maybe a weekly bike612 singlespeed MTB ride? Any takers?

I'd say "yes" if it was on Tuesday, but now that I've a girlfriend, not so much. We typically go out riding on Tuesdays.

I would find it easier to just go for a ride once in a while. I do love riding dirt. All my bikes are geary bikes. I even had a 5-speed BMX as a kid. That was awesome.

Seems like single-speed bikes are becoming the norm at most of the 1track spots around here these days. Huzzah.

It's going to get dirty anyway, right? Just slap a fork on it and go!

I'm going to get on the trails sometime this weekend, it's been too long. My only MTB is geared, but i'd like to get a SS once finances turn around.

I'll probably be doing a Prototypes Program as part of my framebuilding venture, building custom frames for people I know (and who sign waivers) provided they pay for the parts and paint. No real mark-up to speak of, just enough to show that the IRS it's a biz, not a hobby. If you'd like a custom steel SS MTB, we can talk. Hit me up at Minnecycle, if you're around.
